What is a service call fee?
A service call fee includes both the trip fee and diagnostic fee. This is the cost to have an appliance repair technician come out to the customer’s home or business and diagnose the problem as to why the appliance is not working properly. After diagnosis, the technician can provide the customer with an estimate of how much the repair will cost. The estimate typically includes the service call fee, labor, and parts if a part(s) must be replaced. Even if a customer does not approve the repair, they still must pay the service call fee. If the customer approved the job, the appliance was repaired but within 90 days the same original problem occurred, the technician will come out to repair the appliance under warranty (no service call).

How much does a service call cost?
The service call fee is typically $96.50. Certain high end appliances and parts of the Portland Metro Area can be subject to a higher fee. We always recommend calling our office to determine accurate pricing.

How much would a repair cost?
The appliance repair cost includes the service call fee, labor, and parts if parts must be replaced. The repair cost can vary depending on several factors. These factors include but are not limited to: Address of household/business, brand of appliance, type of appliance, accessibility of appliance, availability/cost of parts, and severity of repair.

Do you charge by the hour?
Appliance repair labor costs at AAA Appliance are not charged by the hour. Rather, we charge by the job which is called Flat Rate Labor. This allows the customer to know upfront what the repair will cost and then approve or disapprove the repair.

Do I get charged more for having two technicians repair an appliance?
Sometimes technicians decide to repair appliances together rather than separately when the schedule allows them to do so. When this occurs, repairs do NOT cost more. The cost of the appliance repair would cost the same as just one technician conducting the repair.

Does AAA Appliance guarantee its work?
Absolutely! Our technicians do everything they can to ensure each appliance serviced is repaired correctly and efficiently the first time. We do not want customers calling us back saying their appliance that we previously repaired isn’t properly working again. But such situations do occur and this is why we provide a 90 day warranty for all residential appliance repairs. Such warranty repairs also become priority over other appointments. So yes we absolutely guarantee our work.

What information should I have when scheduling an appointment?
When calling to schedule an appointment for a appliance repair please be prepared to provide the following: Your name, address, phone number, make and model of the appliance, perceived issues, and any information you believe is important for us to know. Such information may include specific directions, instructions, or appointments/commitments during the day.

Will a technician tell me when an appliance should be replaced versus repaired?
Once the technician has completed diagnosing the problem of the appliance, they WILL recommend whether it should be repaired or replaced. Our technicians are experts in the appliance industry therefore they know which appliances last long and which ones are likely not to; they can tell what condition your appliance is; and they know the cost of repairs and the cost of new appliances. But it is entirely up to the customer to decide to replace or repair the appliance. If the appliance is not repairable or parts are no longer available, the only option available is to replace the appliance. If requested/desired the technicians will recommend and explain which appliances are worth purchasing to replace the old appliance.

What types of payment are accepted?
In terms of payment, we accepted cash, checks, and debit/credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express). All debit/credit card payments are subject to a 3% charge.

What areas do you service?
Overall we provide appliance repair service for the Portland metro area. Areas include but are not limited to: Aurora, Aloha, Beaverton, Canby, Cedar Mill, Clackamas, Gladstone, Gresham, Happy Valley, Hillsboro, Jantzen Beach, King City, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Portland, Sherwood, St. Johns, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn, and Wilsonville. Can you repair same day?
More times than not we can repair the appliance the same day. We work with two other parts stores here in Portland so if we do not have the part it is likely we can get the part though them. There are times where they must be ordered from the factory or from other states. If that does happen and we have to come back to your house to install the part you will not be subject to pay another service call. If a part is no longer available and the technician is unable to come up with another solution, the appliance is technically unrepairable.
